In the House of Lovers
Letters are the essence of language and thought, representing meaning beyond their primary form. As an expression of ideas, they can lead to abounding possibilities, taking us through interpretations of language hidden between the alphabetical letters. ‘In the House of Lovers’ is a two-part series based on Rumi’s poem:
In the house of lovers,
the music never stops,
the walls are made of songs,
and the floor dances.
- )عشق( In this work, the three letters of ‘ishq described as one of the higher levels of love in the Arabic language - ‘ayn (ع), shīn (ش) and qāf (ق) are drawn in their primal forms to create the dynamic movements and rhythm of dance. Through intricate threading, each letter forms its own narrative, weaving together different characters, relationships and ideas
